Mango Dance supports the Mardi Gras

Mango Dance was proud to support the Australian Indian and South East Asian LGBTQI community with the largest Bollywood float so far - 80 people. It was a momentous occasion due to the recent decriminalization of Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) rights in Nepal and India.

What an awesome experience it was to participate in the Sydney Mardi Gras for 2019. It was such an amazing atmosphere, especially when we were waiting to commence. Everyone was coming to our float to dance to the amazing Bollywood music. Most of all I was so touched and amazed at how the LGBTQI community just took us in. They were so lovely to us and pleased to have us support the event.

Then the parade starts and I think we burnt out before we even got to Taylor square. Maintaining Bollywood energy for 2 km was a marathon. Every time we felt we couldn't keep going , the Crowd would erupt when they would see us. They cheered us on so much. They gave us energy and we kept going.

Thanks for inviting us to participate Akaash and Kunal.
